How do I listen to Olde Enchantments Internet Radio?

Please download and install our Tuner which is a small, safe download directly from our Olde Enchantments domain server. http://www.oldeenchantments.com/radio/BS-Tuner_Setup.msi

It's a free, one time installation. Once the Tuner is installed you may tune in and listen to our stream at any time without even going to our web page. However we do have a convenient "Quick Launch" button on the radio home page.

To use your Tuner after installation type, or copy and paste oldeenchantments.com/radio into the http:// box. Then click the play button located at the right of the volume control.

You can also go to our radio home page at http://www.oldeenchantments.com/radio/ and click the Quick Launch button.

Note that you can change the size of your Tuner by clicking on the bottom right corner or by clicking on any side and dragging to the desired size. We stream album art and other images while music is playing so your Tuner doubles as an image viewer.

Why must I use your Tuner?

So the copyrighted music that we play can't be pirated.

The only way around this would be to pay an expensive monthly service that has the money and technology to have a nifty, instant, secure, pop-up tuner appear on your browser. However the tradeoff is then there'd be advertising in our broadcast stream and we'd have a monthly nut to crack. Have you seen how long stations specializing in music like we do typically last on those paid services?

We own our own broadcast software and stream via FTP on our own domain server. We have no Masters to Serve which enables us to stream 24/7 without commercial advertising.

Why can't I listen on my Mac?

We have no desire or reason to exclude Mac users. We simply haven't found any suitable software that will securely stream to Macs from a PC.

Why won't your Tuner install on my PC?

Assuming you have Windows Vista or XP, the most likely reason is that you don't have Microsoft .Net Framework Version 2.0 installed on your computer. The Tuner requires this to operate. It can be downloaded here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5&displaylang=en

Why was nothing playing when I opened my Tuner?

If our broadcast stream suddenly stops, it may be because we have temporarily lost power, which is not an uncommon occurrence during storm season here in south Florida. We do have battery backup but power outages can outlast the charge in our batteries.

We have also noticed that occasionally a new audio file will cause some type of conflict in our broadcast software resulting in the server shutting down. Unfortunately we do not have someone monitoring our broadcast server 24/7 so sometimes it may take us awhile to locate the culprit audio file causing a problem.

Our computer also occasionally restarts itself after an automatic update of some type. Just like yours probably does.
In any event our broadcast stream will be back online as soon as possible.

Our apologies for any delays!

Why did nothing play even after I left my Tuner open for a long time?

It seems that each time our broadcast server software shuts down and restarts for any reason, it becomes necessary for listeners to restart their Tuners as well. Simply close your Tuner, reopen it, and log back on..
